Lyric Hurd is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for herself as an actress, dancer, runway model, and print model. Her most notable role to date is in the Netflix biopic "Roxanne Roxanne", directed by Michael Larnell and based on the life of hip-hop pioneer Lolita Gooden, also known as Roxanne Shante.
The film, which stars Nia Long and Mahershala Ali, tells the story of Roxanne's life and features Lyric as Fastima, the younger sister of the lead character Roxanne, played by Chante Adams, and daughter to Peggy Gooden, played by Nia Long.
In addition to her work in film, Lyric has also landed several modeling campaigns and national commercials. Her clients include Pantene, Elmer's Glue, and Dunkin' Donuts, as well as brands such as Macy's, GILT, Chase Bank, Visa, and Red Lobster.
Lyric's television credits include co-starring roles in the CBS show "Blue Bloods" and the Amazon series "Mozart in the Jungle". She has also danced in Alicia Keys' music video for "In Common" and starred alongside Denyce Lawton and Denise Boutte in the BET film "Secrets".
The DMV native began her modeling career at the age of 4, when she won first place in Glynn Jackson's Showbiz Kidz of the DMV runway competition in March 2013. Her pictures quickly went viral, making her an internet sensation and fashion icon. This led her mother to seek out representation to help her daughter further her career.
When Lyric is not acting, she enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, dancing, and playing with her little sisters, Melody and Rhythm. With new opportunities constantly arising, Lyric is excited to see what the future holds for her.
