Biography

Lynn Ruth Miller, a remarkable individual, stands out as one of the oldest performing stand-up comedians on both sides of the Atlantic, with a career spanning over a decade. Despite starting her journey at the age of 71, after a successful career as a writer, tutor, and newspaper columnist, she has managed to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

Miller is perhaps most famous for her role as the Fairy Godmother in Selene Kapsaski's Horror Musical Spidarlings (2016). Her impressive career is a testament to her versatility, as she has worn many hats and continues to entertain audiences of all ages with her comedy and song.

At the age of 83, Miller is a true renaissance woman, and her life is a living proof that the older you are, the more fun you have. She has reinvented herself multiple times, with one of her most notable achievements being the publication of her first book, Starving Hearts, an autobiographical novel about her struggles with bulimia and an overwhelming mother.

This book has become a bestseller, selling over 6,200 copies, and has inspired many others who have struggled with eating disorders to believe in their ability to help themselves. Miller has also written a series of Thoughts books, which are compilations of essays she wrote as columns for her local newspaper, The Pacifica Tribune.

Her writing has been published in over 100 outlets nationwide, and she has read passages from her books all over the US and abroad. Miller's works are known for their unique blend of humor and nostalgia, focusing on topics that touch us all, such as the changing role of women, eating disorders, growing old, and the idiosyncrasies of modern society.

In addition to her writing and performing career, Miller has also hosted two television programs on public access television, Channel 26 in Pacifica: "What's Hot Between The Covers" (book reviews and interviews in the arts) and "Paint With Lynn".
