Biography

Luke Perry was an American actor, primarily remembered as a teen idol throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s. Born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1966, Perry was raised in Fredericktown, Ohio. He attended Fredericktown High School, where he served as the school mascot, "Freddie Bird".

After high school, Perry moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He struggled to find work, but eventually landed a recurring role in the soap opera "Loving" in 1983. He also appeared in "Another World" from 1988 to 1989.

Perry's breakout role came in 1990 when he played Dylan McKay in the teen drama "Beverly Hills, 90210". He played the character for a total of 199 episodes. The show made him a household name and a teen idol.

Perry's success in "Beverly Hills, 90210" led to more film and television roles. He appeared in the horror comedy "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in 1992, and had voice acting roles in several animated series, including "The Simpsons" and "Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm".

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Perry appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "8 Seconds", "Vacanze di Natale '95", and "Oz". He also had recurring roles in the series "Jeremiah" and "Windfall".

In the 2010s, Perry continued to work in television, appearing in guest roles on shows such as "Riverdale" and "Trials". He also became a spokesperson for cancer awareness and early testing.

Perry suffered a massive ischemic stroke on February 27, 2019, and died on March 4, 2019, at the age of 52. He was buried in Vanleer, Tennessee, near his home.
