Biography

Luis Heredia, a diminutive comedian, captured the hearts of the Madrid public with his endearing flute-like voice of a comic tenor, which soon spread to the rest of Spain throughout the 1910s until his passing. In his early days, he performed in zarzuela, but he eventually transitioned to the genre known as Infimo, operetta, and magazine, achieving immense success in the Martin theater with the premiere of the hit show "Las corsarias," in which he portrayed one of the three male leads under the direction of Salvador Videgain and alongside Faustino Bretaño.

After leaving the company, Videgain entrusted Heredia with many roles, allowing him to thrive during his best artistic period between 1919 and 1925. Heredia continued to enjoy success as part of Videgain's company, solidifying his reputation. Upon his return to the Martin theater, the public had not forgotten him, and he would go on to become a legend in the coliseum, as well as in his genre, until his eventual passing.
