Lucy Gaffy is a highly acclaimed and accomplished filmmaker who has made a significant impact in the industry by working on a diverse range of projects, including feature films, episodic television, documentaries, and short form content.
Throughout her career, Lucy has received numerous nominations and awards for her outstanding work, including being nominated for Best Director by the Australian Directors' Guild (ADG) on four separate occasions. Her short film, Dream Baby, won the prestigious AACTA Award for Best Short Film in 2016.
Lucy has also had the opportunity to work on several episodic television shows, including directing episodes of Doctor Doctor for The Nine Network, The Unlisted for Netflix, Amazing Grace for The Nine Network, and Irreverent for Netflix. Her impressive range and versatility as a director have allowed her to excel in this format.
In 2023, Lucy was the set-up director for the highly anticipated Sundance/STAN series Totally Completely Fine. She is also set to direct the new Aquarius Films series Mix Tape for BINGE, which is scheduled to commence photography in Dublin this coming March.
In addition to her work in television, Lucy has also directed the opening story "We the Spiders" for the anthology feature film, Here Out West, which premiered at the 2021 Sydney Film Festival and was nominated for the 2022 AACTA Award for Best Film. This film was a collaborative effort with other esteemed directors, including Ana Kokkinos, Leah Purcell, Julie Kalceff, and Fadia Abboud.
Apart from her active directing work, Lucy is also committed to developing several projects for the screen, showcasing her dedication to the craft and her passion for storytelling.
