Biography

Lorna Yabsley, a renowned British former actress, photographer, and author, made a significant impact in the wedding photography industry during the early 1990s by pioneering the "reportage" style.

Born on July 19, 1964, Lorna's early life was marked by a passion for the performing arts. As a teenager, she attended the prestigious Bush Davies School of Theatre Arts in East Grinstead and Elmhurst School for Dance in Camberley, Surrey. Simultaneously, she began her acting career, appearing in various television dramas and serials.

One of her notable roles was in the cult favourite episode "The Flypaper" of the popular television series Tales of the Unexpected. In 1980, she adopted the stage name Lorna Charles and went on to star alongside esteemed actresses Brenda Blethyn and Harriet Walter in the Richard Eyre-directed Play for Today edition The Imitation Game.

Lorna's interest in photography began at the tender age of 18, when she started working as an assistant to the accomplished landscape photographer Charlie Waite. Together, they established the specialist photo library Landscape Only, marking the beginning of her illustrious career in photography.
