Mauro's life journey began in Sicily, where he was born, but his childhood was marked by a significant move to the United States with his family. As a child, Mauro found himself in a new country, with no knowledge of the dominant language, English. This challenging situation presented him with an extraordinary opportunity to start anew in America.
Despite the odds, Mauro's family ensured he received a top-notch education in some of the finest schools in Los Angeles. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, setting the stage for a promising future. However, Mauro's heart had other plans. He made the bold decision to abandon his marketing career and pursue his true passion – becoming an actor.
Mauro's dedication to his craft led him to undergo rigorous drama training at the prestigious Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena and the Pasadena Playhouse. He quickly made a name for himself, landing lead and supporting roles in various feature films, television shows, and stage productions.
As a filmmaker, Mauro took the next step by establishing his own production company. He executive produced and starred in the critically acclaimed independent feature film True Friends (1998),which earned him numerous awards. Mauro's writing credits include the creation of a television drama, "Arthur Avenue," as well as several screenplays, such as "Loving Angelina," "Una Storia Segreta" (The Secret Story),and "Lucia."
Currently, Mauro is refining his latest screenplays and resides in Whittier, California, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
