Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Lorenzo DeStefano is a multi-talented individual with a passion for creative storytelling. He is a playwright, screenwriter, producer, director, and photographer, with a diverse range of experience in both the US and UK.
As a documentary filmmaker, DeStefano has produced and directed several award-winning films, including "Hearing is Believing" and "Los Zafiros - Music From The Edge Of Time". His documentary "Talmage Farlow" was an acclaimed portrait of the American jazz guitarist.
DeStefano's narrative film projects include "Shipment Day", "Stairway to the Stars", and "The Diarist", a 5-part limited series inspired by the true story of Boston eccentric Arthur Crew Inman. He has also written and produced several other projects, including "House Boy", a 3-part limited series set in London and South India.
As a playwright, DeStefano has written several full-length plays, including "Shipment Day", which premiered in Honolulu, and "Camera Obscura", a dramatization of The Inman Diary. He has also written several one-act plays, including "Stairway to the Stars" and "Shipment Day".
DeStefano's fiction work includes the novel "House Boy" and the short story "The Shakespearean". His non-fiction work includes the memoir "Hitchhike" and the essay "Callé Cero-An Encounter with Cuban Film Director Tomas Gutierrez Alea".
As a director, DeStefano has worked on several productions, including "Shipment Day", "Providence", and "Jitters". He has also edited several films, including "Dreamscape", "That Championship Season", and "Girls Just Want To Have Fun".

DeStefano is the founder of the Ventura Film Society, a California-based cinema cooperative that brings people together in the dark.
