Loren is a multifaceted creative professional with a diverse range of expertise, encompassing producer, director, and documentary filmmaker. His extensive experience spans across various formats, from independently financed feature films to high-budget television series and branded-content campaigns.
His work has been showcased on prominent streaming networks and broadcast television networks globally, garnering recognition for excellence across multiple media platforms. Notable projects include the branded-content series Replay, a collaboration with Gatorade and Chiat-Day, as well as the Warriors Among Us campaign, which honors the sacrifices of our armed forces.
As a contract filmmaker for FOX Sports and Bally Sports, Loren is responsible for directing, producing, and overseeing the production of documentaries and features, which are subsequently distributed nationally to the network's regional partners.
Prior to his current endeavors, Loren's impressive credits include the Oscar-nominated short film Our Time Is Up, the Emmy-winning television series Intervention on A&E, and the Emmy-winning television series FRONTLINE/World on PBS.
Loren's filmmaking career commenced with his graduate thesis, Cockfight, which garnered a nomination for an International Documentary Association Award. This notable achievement led to securing financing to establish a documentary production company with his friend and collaborator Tiller Russell, resulting in a slate of award-winning films.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Loren has also shared his expertise by teaching filmmaking at UC Santa Barbara and guest lecturing at USC's film school. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts (MFA),Loren is a former collegiate baseball player who now enjoys coaching youth baseball.
