Biography

Lora Kennedy, a renowned figure in the film industry, held the esteemed position of Executive Vice President of Casting at Warner Bros. Theatrical from 1999 to 2018. During her illustrious career, she oversaw an array of prominent projects, including the phenomenally successful Harry Potter series, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, the Sherlock Holmes series, Happy Feet 1 + 2, and Fury Road.

Kennedy's impressive résumé boasts a plethora of award-winning films, with several ensembles earning accolades for their outstanding performances. Notably, she was instrumental in casting Argo, which went on to win the Best Picture Oscar, as well as The Town, Syriana, and several other films that received widespread critical acclaim.

Throughout her career, Kennedy has been nominated multiple times for Artios Awards, ultimately taking home the prize for Argo's Outstanding Achievement in Casting, Big Budget Feature, and RKO 281's Outstanding Achievement in Casting, TV Movie of the Week. Her exceptional work on RKO 281 also earned her an Emmy Award.

Kennedy's extensive credits also include Justice League; Wonder Woman, for which she received an Artios Award nomination; Cloud Atlas; Speed Racer; Swordfish; Tombstone; Coneheads; One Fine Day; and Soapdish.

In addition to her impressive filmography, Kennedy served on the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Board of Governors from 2013 to 2019. She was honored with the Hoyt Bowers Award for Career Achievement in Casting from the Casting Society of America in 2012 and went on to serve on the society's board for four years.
