Biography

Lois Robbins is a native New Yorker, born and raised in the city that never sleeps. She is an accomplished actress, with a career spanning numerous film and television roles.

Ms. Robbins has recently been seen in the independent film "The Aspern Papers," alongside Vanessa Redgrave, Jolie Richardson, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. She also stars in the film "Shepherd," directed by Lynn Roth, alongside Casper Van Dien, Kevin Sorbo, and Antonio Sabato Jr. Additionally, she can be seen in the YA adventure film "Kingfish," alongside Molly Ringwald, and in the independent films "Blowtorch," opposite Billy Baldwin, Kathy Najimy, and Armand Assante, "Juvie," alongside Eric Roberts, and "Ithaca," directed by Meg Ryan, alongside Sam Shepherd, Melanie Griffith, and Meg Ryan.

Ms. Robbins has also had a recurring role as art collector Penelope in the fifth season of the hit TV Land series "Younger."

On the stage, Ms. Robbins has starred in numerous productions, including the Eugene O'Neil Theater Center, Goodspeed Opera, Trinity Repertory, Studio Arena Theater, Rubicon Theater, Schoolhouse Theater, and Roundabout Theater. She has also graced the silver screen in films such as "Town and Country," "The Screamaker," "Hudson River Blues," and "Motherhood." Ms. Robbins is best known for her roles on daytime television, including "One Life to Live," "Loving," "Ryan's Hope," and "All My Children." Her additional television credits include guest shots in "Sex And The City," "Law & Order," "Kingpin," "Once And Again," "Law & Order SVU," and "Blue Bloods."

In addition to her film and television work, Ms. Robbins has also made a name for herself on the stage. She has starred in two world premiere musical comedies: "My History of Marriage," by Academy Award and two-time Grammy winner David Shire, Lee Kalcheim, and Samuel Kalcheim, presented by the 2011 New York Music Theatre Festival; and "A Time for Love," by David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr., at the Rubicon Theatre Company at the Roundabout Theater's Black Box. She also starred as Stephanie Dickinson in "Cactus Flower" at the Westside Arts Theater, produced by Daryl Roth.

Ms. Robbins has also written and performed her own one-act comic play, "L.O.V.E.R.," which premiered in both New York and Los Angeles. Directed by Sonia Sebastian, the play is a riff on childhood, adolescence, and finally adulthood from a grown-up woman's point of view. "L.O.V.E.R." was accepted into the 2018 United Solo Festival in NYC and played to sold-out audiences. The play will make its Off-Broadway debut, written and performed by Lois Robbins and directed by Karen Carpenter, with a limited engagement beginning on August 21 at The Pershing Square Signature Center - The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre.
