Biography

Lisa Durupt, a multifaceted and dynamic talent, hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she initially gained recognition for her exceptional skills in the realm of film and television.

As a skilled ice hockey player in her formative years, Lisa earned a scholarship to an American university, only to have her arrival postponed due to surgery. In a moment of spontaneity, she enrolled at the University of Winnipeg, where she attended a local production of A Chorus Line for her theatre class, ultimately deciding to trade in her athletic pursuits for the world of arts.

Lisa's natural athleticism proved to be a gateway to the film industry, as she began her career as a dancer and stunt performer. Her early appearances in films such as Shall We Dance and The Lazarus Project paved the way for her breakthrough role as the temperamental Shandra on the series Less Than Kind, which was cast by renowned Canadian comedian Mark McKinney.

Throughout her time on the show, Lisa's unbridled energy and remarkable gift for ad-libbing earned her a Gemini Award nomination for Best Individual Performance in a Comedy Program or Series in 2010, as well as a Leo Award nomination for Best Performance in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series in 2013.

Lisa's subsequent appearances in a wide range of film and television projects, including The Pastor's Wife, The Color of Rain, Run for Your Life, and Supernatural, further solidified her reputation as a versatile and talented performer. Her most significant cinematic role to date came when she played the overly competitive sister of Sonja Bennett in Preggoland, a performance that earned her a second Leo Award nomination in 2015 for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture.

Currently, Lisa continues to work steadily in film, while also enjoying a successful run on television as Andrea Todd, the sister of Alison Sweeney's Hannah Swensen, in the Hallmark Channel's Murder She Baked series, which is based on the best-selling mystery novel series of the same name.
