Lisa Cholodenko, a highly accomplished filmmaker, earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the prestigious Columbia University Film School, where she created an award-winning short film titled "Dinner Party" in 1997.
Her feature film debut, "High Art" (1998),garnered widespread critical acclaim, with Ally Sheedy's performance earning the National Society of Film Critics award and the film itself receiving the Waldo Salt Screenwriting award at the Sundance Film Festival.
Both "High Art" and her subsequent feature, "Laurel Canyon" (2002),made their world premieres at the esteemed Cannes Director's Fortnight.
