Linda Purl's life journey began in Greenwich, Connecticut, where she was born, before being raised in Japan, an experience that made her the only foreigner to undergo training at the prestigious Toho Geino Academy.
This unique upbringing led to her participation in various theatrical performances at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo, where she took on the roles of "Louis" in the Japanese production of "The King and I", "Bet" in "Oliver", and "Helen Keller" in "The Miracle Worker".
Pursuing further education, Linda Purl then traveled to England to study under the guidance of renowned actress and director Marguerite Beale.
Upon her return to the United States, she continued her training at the Lee Strasberg Institute and later with the esteemed Robert Lewis.
Throughout her illustrious career, Linda Purl has accumulated an impressive list of stage credits, including the Broadway musical "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "Getting and Spending", which had a successful run at the Helen Hayes Theatre.
