Linda Lovelace, renowned as the most celebrated adult film star in history, was born Linda Boreman in 1949. Her life took a dramatic turn in the late 1960s when she entered into a tumultuous relationship with Chuck Traynor, ultimately leading to their marriage. As a result of this union, Linda appeared in eight 8mm hardcore fetish loops, including one that showcased her engaging in sexual activities with a canine.
However, it was her starring role in the 1972 adult film "Deep Throat" that catapulted her to international fame, with the movie becoming a massive commercial success, playing to sold-out crowds in "respectable" cinemas. To this day, "Deep Throat" is widely regarded as the quintessential adult film of all time.
Linda's marriage to Traynor was marked by physical and sexual abuse, which she endured for the duration of their relationship. He coerced her into appearing in the film, and she eventually divorced him, revealing the traumatic experiences she suffered at his hands.
In the years that followed, Linda continued to act in adult films, including the R-rated "Deep Throat Part II" (1974) and the soft-X "Linda Lovelace for President" (1975). However, she gradually distanced herself from the public eye, as the expectation was that she would continue to appear nude in her films and that she would not speak out about her experiences of sexual slavery.
In 1980, Linda published her autobiography "Ordeal", in which she shared her harrowing story of abuse under Traynor. This marked a significant turning point in her life, as she became an outspoken advocate against pornography, testifying before the Meese Commission on the dangers of the industry.
Tragically, Linda's life was cut short in April 2002, when she died following a car accident.
