Ruby was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and at a young age, she moved to the United States with her family. She spent two years in the States before returning to Taiwan at the age of eight, where she enrolled in elementary school.
Initially, Ruby had planned to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom after completing her high school education.
