Lewis Tan is a half-Chinese, half-English actor, film, television, and theatre performer. He has played series regular roles in AMC's "Into the Badlands" and Netflix's "Wu Assassins", and has appeared in films like "Deadpool 2" and the lead role in James Wan's Warner Bros reboot of "Mortal Kombat".
Born in Manchester, England, to a fashion model and a national champion martial artist, Lewis moved to Los Angeles at a young age. He began learning martial arts from his father and attended theatre school, winning multiple honors and amateur fights in kickboxing and Muay Thai.
After graduating, Lewis started his professional career with guest roles in TV shows and films, including "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" and "Den of Thieves". He also gained fame as a fashion model, signing with Wilhelmina modeling agency and becoming the face of Nivea in Asia.
Lewis's breakthrough role came when he was picked by Forest Whitaker to play the lead in the indie drama "Sacrifice", which won awards at film festivals. He then gained international attention for his guest role in Marvel's "Iron Fist", where he played the drunken master "Zhou Cheng".
Lewis is known for performing his own action scenes and secured a lead role in AMC's "Into the Badlands", led by famous choreographer Master Dee Dee. He also starred in Netflix's "Wu Assassins" alongside Kathryn Winnick and Iko Uwais.
