Biography

As a seasoned film director, I have dedicated my career to crafting and producing documentary films that explore the complexities of social justice, migration, and cultural identity. With a keen eye for storytelling, I have successfully brought intimate, human-centered narratives to global audiences, earning recognition at prestigious international film festivals, academic institutions, and through partnerships with organizations like UNHCR and Amnesty International.

Throughout my journey, I have been driven by a passion for using cinema as a powerful tool to spark dialogue, challenge perspectives, and connect people through storytelling. My filmography is a testament to this commitment, featuring a diverse range of projects that have resonated with audiences worldwide.

One of my earliest notable achievements was winning the best short film award at the Roma Fiction Fest in 2010 for "La città di Asterix". This was followed by the release of my documentary "Through Korean Cinema", which premiered at major Asian festivals including Busan, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

In 2014, my documentary "Southeast Asia Cinema - When the Rooster Crows" participated in the Busan and Singapore Film Festivals, and was subsequently acquired by the Sundance Channel. I continued to push boundaries with my documentary "Doris and Hong", which explored the intersection of Italian and Chinese cultures, and was completed in December 2015.

My work has also tackled more recent and pressing issues, such as the refugee crisis. In 2017, I released the short documentary "Obaida", the poignant story of a Syrian boy, which premiered on Arab TV MBC. In 2019, my documentary film "When You Can't Go Back" was released in competition at the 37th Bellaria Film Festival and at other international festivals.

In recent years, I have expanded my scope to explore the world of food and culture. In 2021, I released a documentary series "Italian Chefs", which premiered at EXPO 2020 Dubai and was later distributed on the platforms Cine+ Asia, Kitchen Mania, France, and ITA Airways by Minerva Pictures in 2023.

My most recent projects include the short film "Be Happy", which was distributed by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and premiered in competition at the Sorriso Rai Cinema Channel in April 2022. Additionally, my documentary "Refugee Girls" was released at the Visioni dal Mondo Film Festival in Milan in 2023.

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to using cinema as a powerful tool for social change.
