Leon Lee, whose given name in Chinese means "Ocean in the morning", was born in the vibrant city of Chongqing, China. His father, a geography teacher, and his mother, a physician, instilled in him a strong sense of curiosity and creativity from a young age.
Growing up, Leon was a ball of energy, often getting into mischief, which prompted his parents to introduce him to various hobbies to keep him out of trouble. These included martial arts, basketball, horse-riding, science club, and painting. To everyone's surprise, these extracurricular activities not only kept him occupied but also helped him excel academically, allowing him to skip 6th grade and graduate with honors.
Leon's passion for acting began at the tender age of 13, when his English teacher encouraged him to take the stage. He quickly developed a knack for it and, by the time he was 15, he had already come in second place in the local Amateur Comedy Contest.
After completing his undergraduate degree in English Literature at Chongqing Jiaotong University, Leon took his talents to New York City, where he pursued acting and film-making courses as an exchange student. He later moved to Beijing to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, all while working as an English teacher, model, MC, and viral video producer.
Leon's big break came when he starred and co-produced the film "Zui hou de qiang wang" (2012 The Gunmen),following the success of his 7-Up viral video. This led to a string of starring roles in films such as "La Vita Mode" (2012, Singapore and Malaysia),"The Conspirators" (2013, Hong Kong),and "Last Flight" (2014, China and Thailand).
