Biography

Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski, born on June 10, 1983, in the vibrant city of New York, is the daughter of Elizabeth Sobieski (née Salomon),a talented writer, and Jean Sobieski, a skilled painter who has also ventured into acting. Her father, hailing from France, possesses a rich heritage of Polish and Swiss descent, while her mother boasts a mixed ancestry of three quarters Ashkenazi Jewish and one quarter Dutch.

Sobieski's journey in the world of acting began when a discerning casting agent discovered her in the cafeteria of a prestigious New York City private school. Her first major audition was for a role in the iconic film "Interview with the Vampire" (1994),although she ultimately lost the part to Kirsten Dunst. Undeterred, she continued to pursue her passion for acting, co-starring in the TV movie "Reunion" (1994) alongside Marlo Thomas, and later starring in "A Horse for Danny" (1995).

In 1998, Sobieski landed a significant role in the blockbuster film "Deep Impact" (1998),opposite Elijah Wood, which garnered her widespread critical acclaim and recognition from casting directors. This success was followed by her portrayal of Joan of Arc in the 1999 film of the same name, for which she received an Emmy nomination. During her time filming "Joan of Arc," she also worked on the highly secretive and critically acclaimed film "Eyes Wide Shut" (1999),directed by the renowned Stanley Kubrick, with whom she developed a close friendship.

Sobieski's impressive resume continued to grow, with notable roles in films such as "Never Been Kissed" (1999),alongside Drew Barrymore, "The Glass House" (2001),with Diane Lane, and "Here on Earth" (2000),alongside Josh Hartnett and Chris Klein.

In her personal life, Sobieski married fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, and the couple has been blessed with two children.
