Biography

Jiseung Lee, a renowned director, was born in Seoul, Korea in 1969, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in the world of filmmaking. Lee's academic background is impressive, having earned a degree in Film Directing from Hanyang University, followed by a Master's degree in Cinema Studies from New York University.

After completing his education, Lee transitioned into the film industry, initially working as a producer in New York on notable projects such as "The Cut Runs Deep" and "The Too Tired to Die". In Korea, he worked on 10 commercial feature films as a producer and executive producer, including the commercially successful "Haeundae" (2009),which has become a significant part of Korean film history.

In addition to his work as a producer, Lee has also been involved in several other notable projects. As an associate producer, he worked on the critically acclaimed film "Chunhyang" (directed by Kwon-tack Im),which was selected for competition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2000. Lee's expertise also extended to "Chihwaseon" (2002),which received the Best Director award.

Today, Lee is a professor at the Korean Film Academy of Arts, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of filmmakers.
