Biography

Lee Aaker, the talented young actor, was born on September 25, 1943, in Los Angeles, where his mother owned a dance studio. As a child, he was already making waves in the entertainment industry, appearing in unbilled film bits at the tender age of eight.

His early credits include iconic films such as The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and High Noon (1952). By the end of the year, he had transitioned to featured roles, showcasing his versatility as an actor. One of his notable performances was as the kidnapped Indian "Red Chief" in a segment of the film O. Henry's Full House (1952).

Aaker's impressive range was further demonstrated in films like Atomic City (1952),where he played the son of scientist Gene Barry, and Hondo (1953),co-starring alongside John Wayne as the inquisitive blond son of homesteader Geraldine Page. He also appeared in the film noir thriller Jeopardy (1953) with Barbara Stanwyck, the opera drama Arena (1953) with Gig Young, and the comedies Mister Scoutmaster (1953) with Clifton Webb and Ricochet Romance (1954) with Marjorie Main.

However, it was his role as the young master of the famous dog Rin Tin Tin on the popular television series The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin (1954) that cemented his status as a child star. After the show's conclusion, Aaker did not pursue adult roles, instead opting to transition into the production side of the industry. He served as an assistant to producer Herbert B. Leonard on the Route 66 (1960) series before eventually leaving the entertainment industry to become a carpenter.

Despite his departure from the spotlight, Aaker remained a beloved figure among nostalgia enthusiasts, attending conventions and receiving honors for his contributions to the entertainment industry. In 2005, he was recognized as a "Kids of the West" honoree at the Golden Boot Awards.
