As an actor, Leanna has accumulated a diverse range of theatre credits, including the world premiere of Carmen Aguirre's poignant drama, The Refugee Hotel, and the Canadian premiere of Samuel Beckett's thought-provoking masterpiece, All That Fall. Leanna's published plays, Schoolhouse, The Vic, For Home and Country, and The Book of Esther, are all part of Talonbooks' esteemed catalog, a testament to her dedication to her craft. Her proficiency in French has enabled her to translate numerous Québec plays from French into English, with some of these translations being published by Playwrights Canada Press.
Born in Winnipeg and raised in rural Ontario, Leanna has had the privilege of calling Toronto home for many years, but has recently relocated to Vancouver, Canada, where she resides with her husband, the talented actor-writer-director Jovanni Sy. Together, they are currently working on a new play, inspired by Arthur Miller's remarkable 1983 trip to China, where he directed the iconic production of Death of a Salesman in Beijing.
