Biography

Layla Alexander, a multilingual European native, boasts an impressive proficiency in English, Russian, German, and French. Her professional journey commenced with a prominent role in the acclaimed German TV series "Dr. Specht" shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Alexander's early success led to a lead role in the feature film "Novalis". She then ventured into playwriting and direction, crafting her first play, "Odyssey of the Mind", which garnered the German national theater competition award. This accomplishment was preceded by her studies with esteemed institutions, including the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, Theatre En Act in Paris, Juilliard, and Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York.

Alexander honed her craft on stage in numerous New York theater productions, such as "Don Juan" at Circle in the Square Theatre. Her filmography features a diverse range of projects, including independent films like Hal Hartley's "The Book of Life" and the Oscar-nominated short "Speed for Thespians", as well as mainstream films like "Sleepy Hollow" and "Serendipity".

Her television work is equally impressive, with starring roles on "Law and Order-SVU". After relocating to Los Angeles, she worked on "General Hospital", "Days of Our Lives", and the TV series "The Beast", directed by Mimi Leder. Most recently, she starred in the award-winning independent film "Movin' Too Fast".
