Biography

Laurence Mason, a talented American actor, was born in the Bronx, New York City, to a hardworking Caribbean couple who instilled in him a strong desire for success. At the tender age of 10, Mason's passion for the arts was ignited when he was recruited by The First All Children's Theatre. This early exposure to the world of theatre marked the beginning of his illustrious career.

As he entered his teenage years, Mason's love for the arts continued to flourish, and he enrolled in the renowned Performing Arts High School (Fame) in New York City. It was during this time that he had the privilege of attending school alongside future Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston and Parker Posey at the State University of New York at Purchase.

Following his formal training, Mason performed in a variety of productions at esteemed theatres, including Evan Bergman's New Voice Theatre, The Harold Clurman Theatre, and the Nuyurican Poets Café. His impressive repertoire also included appearances in commercials, hip-hop music videos, and voice-over work.

Mason's breakthrough in the film industry came with his supporting role in the feature film True Romance, directed by Tony Scott, alongside Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson. He soon landed roles in The Crow, starring the late Brandon Lee, and Hackers, alongside the rising star Angelina Jolie.

With his stage and cult-film status established, Mason made the move to the west coast to further hone his craft, working with renowned directors such as Michael Mann, Steven Spielberg, Will Smith, and Gene Hackman.

Mason's recurring roles on the hit TV series The Shield and Prison Break have made him a household name, with fans worldwide. His recent supporting role as "Earl" in The Lincoln Lawyer, alongside Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, received a warm response, and he is set to appear in the upcoming series Big Dogs for Amazon Prime, as well as the still-unreleased feature film City of Lies, starring Johnny Depp.

Mason credits his parents for instilling in him a sense of limitless possibility, saying, "My parents raised me to believe nothing is out of reach, and they were right, and I'm so grateful for them."
