Biography

Lauren Savoy, a multifaceted American creative, is a talented composer, director, and writer. Born in 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts, she would go on to pursue a career that spans multiple disciplines.

After completing her studies at the prestigious London Film School, Lauren began her professional journey by directing music videos and commercials. This early success laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.

In 1995, Lauren teamed up with her husband, Pål Waaktaar, and drummer Frode Unneland to form the band Savoy. This collaboration would yield impressive results, with the band winning the esteemed Spellemannprisen award for Best Pop Band not once, but twice (1999 and 2001). Savoy has also received three nominations for this prestigious honor.

Currently, Savoy is working on their seventh studio album, a testament to their enduring creative spark.

In addition to her work with Savoy, Lauren has also ventured into scriptwriting. She has penned two scripts that are currently optioned by Hummelfilm, a prominent production company. Furthermore, Lauren is actively working on a TV pilot project in partnership with Yellowbird film and Hummelfilm.
