Biography

Lawrence Gene David is a multifaceted American entertainment professional, exceling as a comedian, actor, writer, director, and television producer.

He co-created the iconic television sitcom Seinfeld alongside Jerry Seinfeld, serving as the head writer and executive producer for the show's first seven seasons. This groundbreaking series earned him widespread recognition and accolades.

David's work on Seinfeld garnered him two Primetime Emmy Awards in 1993 for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in a Comedy Series. Prior to his success in television, he began his career as a comedian, performing on ABC's Fridays and briefly writing for Saturday Night Live.

Throughout his illustrious career, David has received numerous nominations, including 27 Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He was voted the 23rd greatest comedy star ever by fellow comedians and comedy insiders in a 2004 British poll, and received the Laurel Award for TV Writing Achievement from the Writers Guild of America in 2010.
