Biography

Lara Dutta is a renowned beauty with unparalleled intelligence, a distinction she solidified by achieving the highest possible marks in the history of the Miss Universe Contest. This remarkable feat earned her the coveted title of Miss Universe 2000, making her the most intelligent and beautiful young woman to don the crown in the esteemed pageant's history.

Born on April 16, 1978, in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, Lara is the daughter of retired Wing Commander L.K. Dutta and Jennifer Dutta. She has two sisters, one of whom serves in the Indian Air Force, and is the cousin of renowned musician Nitin Sawhney. The Dutta family relocated to Bangalore in 1981, where Lara attended St. Francis Xavier Girls' High School until her 10th standard. She later pursued her junior college education at Frank Anthony Public School and eventually earned a degree in Economics from Bombay University. Lara is fluent in both Hindi and English.

In 1997, Lara's talent and beauty earned her the top spot at the Miss Gladrags competition, leading to her representation at the Miss Intercontinental pageant. Her subsequent victory at Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus made her the second Indian to win this prestigious award.

Following her Miss Universe commitments, Lara received numerous offers from Bollywood filmmakers and made her cinematic debut in the 2003 film "Andaaz," which garnered her significant recognition and earned her the best female debut award from Femina. Although many of her subsequent films failed to make a significant impact at the box office, she remained a popular and household name, with notable movies including "Masti," "No Entry," "Kaal," "Partner," and "Hey Baby."

Lara is also recognized for her quick wit and talent for writing. She has announced plans to write scripts and hopes that someday someone from Bollywood will adapt her work into films.
