Lara was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, where she was surrounded by her Ukrainian heritage as both her parents were of second-generation Ukrainian descent. Growing up, she was a multifaceted individual with a passion for the arts and athletics. She began her professional career on stage at the tender age of nine, starring in Ross Petty's Panto, Cinderella, and subsequently appearing in Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk.
