Laci Kay was born in Tyler, Texas, where she was the youngest of four siblings, including two sisters, Meagan and Heather, and one brother, Jake. She spent her early years in Whitehouse, Texas, attending Stepping Stone preschool and later Kindergarten and 1st grade at Cain Elementary school.
Laci's childhood was filled with various activities, including competitive cheerleading with the "Tyler Twisters," where she was coached by Miss Kim and Mr. Derrick. She also sang and performed at her church, Tyler Metro Church, under the guidance of Pastor Ray.
In 2002, Laci's family relocated to Goleta, California, due to her father's job transfer with Cox Communications. Her sisters and brother chose to remain in Texas, while Laci and her parents moved to Ojai, California. She attended Mira Monte Elementary school for the remainder of 1st grade and all of 2nd grade.
Laci's passion for acting began to emerge during her 1st-grade play, "Rumpus in the Rainforest." She also attended the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts, where she met her future agent, Jeremy Apody, who has represented her commercially to this day. Her first job with Apody was playing young Christina Aguilera in the music video "Hurt."
As Laci's acting career took off, her parents decided to relocate to Ventura, California, to reduce their commutes and improve their quality of life. She attended Portola Elementary school for grades 3-5 and Anacapa Middle school for 6th grade, where she is currently in the 7th grade.
Laci has performed in various local productions, including the Elite, Rubicon, and Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Theaters. She has been part of the G.A.T.E. program since 3rd grade and was chosen to give an inspiring speech at her 5th-grade graduation. She is an active member of Bible Fellowship Church in Ventura, participating in their Kids Choir and helping with community outreach programs.
Outside of acting and school, Laci enjoys a variety of hobbies, including riding her bike, electric scooter, and razor scooter, flipping on her trampoline, and perfecting her skills on her new skateboard. She also loves swimming, going to the beach, texting and talking to friends, watching TV, and spending time with her family.
