Biography

Labina Mitevska, a talented actress, was born in 1975 in the vibrant city of Skopje, which serves as the capital of North Macedonia. Her academic background is impressive, having studied at the faculty of Art and Archaeology at the University of St. Kiril and Metodi, situated in her hometown, as well as at the European Film College in Denmark and the University of Arizona's Department of Art History.

Mitevska's acting career began in an unexpected manner, with a role in Milcho Manchevski's film "Pred Dozdot" (Before the Rain, 1994),where she portrayed Zamira, a young North Macedonian Albanian girl. Her subsequent appearance was in the North Macedonian theatre production of "Tuku Taka Pod Oblaka" (All of a Sudden Under the Clouds).

In 1996, Labina played a supporting role in the film "Welcome to Sarajevo" (1997),directed by Michael Winterbottom, who subsequently cast her in "I Want You" (1998). In 2000, she landed the lead role in the Czech film "Loners," and next appeared in "Too Bad That Balkan Express Was Already Used," directed by her sister Teona Mitevska.

In addition to her acting career, Mitevska has also contributed to North Macedonian publications, with a few of her essays appearing in the magazines "Start" and "Dnevnik."
