With a storied career spanning multiple decades, KRS-One rose to prominence as a founding member of the influential hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions, alongside DJ Scott La Rock, in the mid-1980s.

Throughout his illustrious career, KRS-One has accumulated a vast array of hits, including "Sound of da Police", "Love's Gonna Get'cha (Material Love)", and "My Philosophy", among many others. Boogie Down Productions, under KRS-One's leadership, garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards during their early years, with their debut album, Criminal Minded, serving as a pivotal milestone in their journey.

Following the tragic death of Scott La Rock, KRS-One continued to propel the group forward, effectively transforming it into a solo project. In 1993, he began releasing records under his own name, cementing his status as a formidable force in the hip-hop world.
