Viola Voltairine, formerly known as Kristie Alshaibi, underwent a name change in 2021. Throughout her career, Viola has engaged in various illicit occupations to support her artistic endeavors, showcasing her multifaceted talents.
In her professional life, Viola has held notable positions, including program director of the Z Film Festival, festival director of the 72 Hour Feature Project in Chicago, and even the founder of a commercial BDSM studio/art space. Furthermore, she has served as a kink educator, offering in-person and online workshops, solidifying her expertise in the field.
In 2000, Viola founded the production company Artvamp, which has since produced a plethora of award-winning feature films. Her most notable works include the experimental narrative film Profane, which won Best Feature at the Boston Underground Film Festival and Best Film of the Year in the Underground Film Journal.
