Kristi Zea has been a prominent figure in the contemporary film scene for over three decades, distinguished by her work as a production designer, costume designer, and producer for major feature films of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s.
As a production designer, Kristi has made significant contributions to iconic films such as Martin Scorsese's New York Stories, Goodfellas, and The Departed, all of which earned Academy Awards.
During this period, she collaborated with renowned directors including Jonathan Demme on films like Married to the Mob, Beloved, Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, and Manchurian Candidate, as well as Barry Levinson on Sleepers in 1996.
Later, Kristi worked as the production designer for Brett Ratner's Red Dragon and Roger Michelle's Changing Lanes, as well as Neil Jordan's The Brave One, Kasi Lemmon's Black Nativity, Nancy Meyers' The Intern, and the indie film The Comedian starring Robert DeNiro.
Her production design for Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road earned an Oscar nomination, and she has also worked on television shows such as American Odyssey, New Amsterdam, and Netflix's The Watcher.
Kristi began her career as a costume designer for Alan Parker's Fame, Shoot the Moon, and Birdy, as well as James L. Brooks' Terms of Endearment and Larry Kasdan's Silverado.
As a producer, she collaborated with James L. Brooks on Broadcast News and As Good As It Gets, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. She also produced and designed the independent film The Joneses starring Demi Moore and David Duchovny.
As a director, Kristi has recently focused on television and documentary film.
