Kris Deskins, a visionary costume designer from Pikeville, Kentucky, embarked on a lifelong journey to bring cinematic magic to the big screen. As a young girl, she was enamored with old movies and would spend hours watching them with her grandmother, mesmerized by the elaborate costumes and characters. This fascination led her to create her own makeshift costumes using homemade quilts, draping them over herself to mimic the on-screen attire.
With a strong foundation in the arts, Kris pursued her passion and earned a Master's degree from the University of Kentucky. Following her academic endeavors, she founded and operated The Lexington Costume Company for five illustrious years, honing her skills and building a reputation as a talented designer.
As her entrepreneurial spirit continued to soar, Kris made the bold decision to sell her business to her partner and relocate to the West Coast. Since 2001, she has resided in Los Angeles, where she has continued to thrive as a costume designer, taking on new and exciting challenges that test her creativity and expertise.
Throughout her illustrious career, Kris has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the art of costume design, effortlessly blending her passion for storytelling with her technical prowess. Her dedication to her craft has earned her a reputation as a highly sought-after designer, and she remains committed to pushing the boundaries of her art form, always seeking new ways to bring characters to life through the magic of costume design.
