Klara McDonnell's illustrious career in the performing arts began at the tender age of sixteen, when she became involved with the esteemed Tallaght Youth Theatre. This marked the starting point of her journey as a skilled drama facilitator, where she honed her craft by working with numerous youth theaters.
As an actor, Klara has had the privilege of taking classes from industry experts such as Graham Cantwell, David Scott, Hope Brown, and Mary Murray. Her first foray into television was on the R.T.E. show "Echo Island", where she shared her experiences of attending the VMA's in Hollywood and busking on Grafton Street alongside a presenter.
Klara's impressive resume boasts an array of credits, including feature film productions, short films, TV serials, and stage performances. Some of her notable roles include "Portrait of a Zombie", "Tin Man" on TG4, "Fair City" on R.T.E., and "Love Songs for Losers" at the Absolut Fringe in 2011.
In addition to her acting career, Klara has also made a name for herself as a presenter. For seven years, she presented on the online traditional Irish music show LiveIreland, as well as on various other online channels such as Kildare TV, Busker TV, The Sound Feed, and Dubz Tv.
As a voice over artist, Klara has lent her talents to online commercials and an R.T.E. documentary, "A Rebel Act", which aired on Irish television in 2015.
Klara's artistic endeavors extend beyond the realm of acting and presenting. She is also a skilled life drawing model, having worked in this capacity on and off for many years. In October 2014, an R.T.E. 2 documentary, "Full Frontal", featured behind-the-scenes footage from her photo shoot for Stellar magazine, as well as an interview with Klara about her views on nudity.
Furthermore, Klara is a talented musician. She graduated from Ballyfermot Rock School in 2003 and went on to co-write songs with guitarist/singer Sean Cray from Liverpool for five years. As Hypno Puppet, they performed in numerous venues and festivals throughout Ireland, including Whelans, The Grand Social, Cyprus Avenue, and Knockanstockan. Their debut E.P. was released in April 2015, produced by Ruarc Stokes.
This February, Klara will be appearing on a well-known UK reality show alongside her actress friend Dani Masterson.
