As a teenager, Kirstin had the opportunity to tour Orillia and surrounding areas with the 'Park Street Players', a theatrical troupe that allowed her to hone her performance skills.
Kirstin's formal training in acting began when she attended the prestigious York University Acting Program in Toronto. During her four-year tenure at York, she had the privilege of studying a wide range of genres, from Elizabethan theatre to modern drama and absurdism. This rigorous training prepared her for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
Since graduating from York, Kirstin has been fortunate enough to land roles in several notable films. One of her most notable performances was as Cory Ditchburn, the first female Canadian war photographer to serve on the front lines during World War II, in the film 'Angel Walk', which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her work has also been featured in films presented at the Cannes Film Festival and other international festivals.
