Kirsten Wendlandt, a talented actress, currently calls Toronto, Ontario home, having relocated from her birthplace of Edmonton, Alberta. Her impressive resume boasts recent credits in the 2017 Cannes Film Festival featured short film "Noah's Truck" and the short film "Lariat", which took top honors at the 48 Hour Film Project Toronto, securing 1st place.
Born into a military family, Kirsten's early years were marked by frequent relocations, which sparked her passion for performing. She found solace in dance classes and acting in various plays, using these outlets to make new friends and build confidence.
Eventually, her family settled back in Edmonton, where Kirsten refocused on her education, temporarily setting aside her dreams of becoming a performer. However, fate and passion collided in the summer of 2008, when she landed a promotional modelling job, leading to a full-time role in campaigns, fashion shows, print modelling, and promotional work.
Returning to university in the fall of 2008, Kirsten balanced her studies with part-time promotional modelling, maintaining a remarkable 3.90 GPA. She then began taking acting classes, signed with a local agent, and completed her Business Degree with a major in Marketing. Her passion for the screen continued to grow.
In 2011, Kirsten attended the Motion Picture Arts program at Red Deer College, where she honed her craft under the mentorship of Larry Reese. Since then, she has acted in over 15 short films, including the award-nominated HYDE, which premiered at the 2013 Alberta Film and Television awards and the 2012 Edmonton International Film Festival. Her extensive credits also include eight feature films, a television series, numerous web series and commercials, and a handful of music videos.
With no signs of slowing down, Kirsten looks forward to an exciting future in film, with a plethora of projects already under her belt and many more on the horizon.
