Kim Jeong-Hoon, a South Korean singer and actor, initially gained fame as a member of the duo UN, debuting with the single "Voice Mail" in 2000. The duo, acronymed "United N-generation," consisted of Kim and another member. After six successful years, UN disbanded in September 2005, and Kim decided to pursue an acting career.
Kim's journey into acting began unexpectedly. He initially wanted to become a laboratory researcher, but he eventually discovered his passion for acting and singing. By 2005, he had already started appearing in Korean dramas, including the sitcom "Orange" and "A Man and a Woman" in 2004.
Kim's breakthrough role came when he starred in the hit MBC drama "Princess Hours" alongside Yoon Eun-Hye and Ju Ji-Hoon. He played the role of Yul, a kind and gentle 19-year-old who is second in line to become the crown prince and seeks to reclaim the crown princess who was initially supposed to marry him.
Before pursuing his acting career, Kim Jeong-Hoon wanted to become a renowned movie director. On April 28, 2009, he left the public to serve his mandatory military service for two years. About 80,000 fans from Japan, Korea, Turkey, and China gathered to see him off.
After serving two years in the military, Kim returned to civilian life on February 28, 2011. He has since appeared in various dramas and shows. In 2016, Kim was cast in the Chinese drama "God of War, Zhao Yun" alongside Girls' Generation's YoonA. He portrayed Gao Ze, a love interest of YoonA's character in a love triangle, marking his first historical drama.
