Biography

Kevin Allen's most recent feature film is the counterculture romantic comedy "La Cha Cha". This film was shot entirely on an iPhone using Moondog amorphic lenses during the summer-2000 lockdown. The movie stars Rhys Ifans, Dougray Scott, Keith Allen, and Melanie Walters and is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Next, Allen is working on the highly anticipated sequel to "Twin Town", titled "Tin". This film is set in the world of homegrown cannabis in the Welsh town of Llanelli.

Additionally, Allen is set to direct an epic 4-part period drama titled "The Crucible", which is set in 19th-century Merthyr Tydfil during the Industrial Revolution.

Allen's film adaptation of Dylan Thomas' "Under Milk Wood" was notable for being shot in two language versions. The Welsh version of the film was selected as the British entry for the Best Foreign-Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards and was nominated for a BAFTA award in 2015.

In 2013, Kevin directed "Y-Syrcas", which was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru Award and won the Audience and Jury awards at The European Minority Language Film Festival 2014.

Prior to this, Allen worked in Hollywood, supervising and developing projects including "Coming Out" for Milk Wood Films and "Cheek to Cheek", a feature-film collaboration with Gene Wilder. He also set up Airstream Films and developed a diverse slate of feature projects with his producing partner, Kate McCreery.

Allen then directed "Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London".

In 2005, Allen adapted Robert Louis Stevenson's novel "Treasure Island" as both a feature film and TV series for Working Title Films.

Finally, Kevin directed the first series of ITV's "Benidorm", for which he was nominated for his second BAFTA.
