Kenn, a pre-internet teenager growing up in suburban Australia, frequently embarked on an hour-long train journey to the heart of Sydney, where he would spend his time watching movie trailers on a multi-screen display in the foyer of the city multiplex. This fascination with film inevitably led him to write screenplays, and he began doing so with his brother. Together, they crafted three feature scripts, one of which they entered into the Australian iteration of the Matt Damon/Ben Affleck creation, Project Greenlight.
To their surprise, they emerged victorious, beating over a thousand applicants to win the million-dollar first prize. The following year, they directed their feature film, The View from Greenhaven, which was released in 2008. The Australian cinematic run lasted nine months, and it was later followed by a New Zealand release.
Not long after the Australian launch, Kenn made the bold decision to relocate to the celluloid mecca of Los Angeles, driven by a desire to pursue further opportunities in the film industry. He penned the original feature, Baptism, a dramatic thriller, which is currently being packaged, and is also working on sci-fi actioner, Dropdown.
In addition to his work in film, Kenn has also maintained a strong connection to his advertising roots. For twelve years, he worked as a copywriter, and he has continued to direct TV commercials for some of Australia's top agencies. He has since expanded his horizons, directing commercials in other markets as well.
