Biography

Kelvin Davis, a native of Merritt, North Carolina, graduated from Pamlico County High School before attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for a semester. He then transferred to North Carolina A & T in the Spring of 1980 on a full football scholarship. During his college years, Kelvin excelled not only as a student and athlete but also as the president of the Student Union Advisory Board. He developed and produced school Fashion Shows and graduated with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health.

After college, Kelvin aspired to pursue his career goals, with football being at the top of his list. He was guided to Washington, D.C., where his family still resides, and attended a couple of workout football camps. Although he attracted brief interest from the Green Bay and Detroit football teams, his interest soon faded, and he began his modeling career by doing area fashion shows.

As his experience grew, so did his work, and Kelvin began to appear in various music videos, including SWV's "Someone" and Gangstar, Guru, and DJ Premium's "Discipline". He was also featured in several publications, such as the 2001 and 2003 Ebony Soul swimsuit calendar, Island Romance Novels, Business Magazine, SMB Boxer Shorts, Nextel Communications, and Old English.

In 2003, Kelvin landed a role on NBC's Law and Order: Criminal Intent as a Swat Captain, which marked the beginning of his successful acting career. He went on to appear in several television shows, including Hager in the CBS series Hack, starring David Morse, and as a Wire Technician in an episode of Third Watch with special guest Tom Berenger.

That same year, Kelvin also played the role of La La in HBO's The Wire, which was the second most-watched show as a dramatic series. His role in The Wire led to progressively larger roles, and he has since been seen in several feature films, including The Salon, The Italian Job, Men in Black 3, Spiderman 3, and Tower Heist.

More recently, Kelvin is known for his roles in Deception, the CBS network series Person of Interest, and the HBO series Veep.
