Kelsie McDonald is a multifaceted Australian/English actor and screenwriter who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
Born and raised in Queensland, Australia, Kelsie's passion for acting began at the tender age of 4, after being rejected by acting schools at 2 years old. She went on to receive formal training from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Australia and the Atlantic Acting School in New York City, USA.
In 2017, Kelsie reconnected with her English heritage in London, where she completed her Master's Degree at the Guildford School of Acting, UK.
With a career spanning across Australia, the UK, Mexico, and now Los Angeles, USA, Kelsie has had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects.
In 2020, Kelsie starred in three feature films, set for release this year. Two of these films were US productions shot in Mexico, allowing her to hone her Spanish speaking skills under the direction of Rafael Altamira and production houses Guerilla Video and Diaz Films.
One of these films marks Kelsie's debut feature-length writing collaboration with Warner Brothers and Apple TV's Ted Lasso star, Cristo Fernández, who she has worked with extensively in his film company Espectro MX Films. The bilingual romantic comedy, titled No Translation Required, features Kelsie and Cristo as the romantic leads.
In addition to these larger projects, Kelsie has worked on award-winning short films, TV pilots, commercials, corporate videos, and in the theatre. Prior to this, she co-founded the London-based theatre company Encompass Theatre Collective, which wrote, devised, and toured innovative and often immersive theatre across Europe.
Kelsie has also received two Best Actress Awards for her work in both film and on stage, at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival and the Ipswich Festival, respectively.
As she looks to the future, Kelsie aspires to continue telling stories from around the world, determined to push boundaries, evoke thought, and inspire change throughout her creative career.
