Kelsey Keel, a talented teenager from Northern Virginia, made her mark in the entertainment industry at a young age by winning an Emmy Award for her outstanding performance in the Showtime Original Picture for All Ages, "My Louisiana Sky", in 2001. This impressive achievement earned her a nomination alongside esteemed industry professionals Hume Cronyn, Juliette Lewis, Stephen Rea, and Kevin Clash.
Prior to her Emmy win, Kelsey's first project was a production of "Trudy Blue" at the renowned Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., which was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman. Following her high school graduation, Kelsey continued to pursue her passion for acting.
Born to a family of five siblings, Kelsey has three older brothers, Jon-Michael Downing, Patrick Downing, and Frankie Keel, as well as a sister-in-law, Val Downing, and a niece, Jana Downing, whom she adores. Kelsey cherishes spending quality time with her family and is often seen accompanying her father, Wade Keel, to his custom picture framing business and beverage store in D.C.
When Kelsey is not acting, she enjoys watching her brother Frankie play lacrosse and football, which he excels at. When traveling for acting roles, Kelsey is accompanied by her mother, Karen Keel, who owns a dance school in Fairfax, Virginia.
In her free time, Kelsey has a variety of hobbies. She is an avid shopper and has also been playing the drums for eight years, the piano for 11 years, and has been dancing since she was just four years old.
