Kelly Angell, formerly known as Kelly Murtagh, is a multi-talented individual born and raised in Louisiana. As a mom, actor, singer, musician, writer, producer, and children's book author, she has explored various creative avenues throughout her career.
Kelly's feature-length film, "Shapeless", is a testament to her versatility and dedication to her craft. The film, which premiered at the 20th Annual Tribeca Festival and the Raindance Film Festival in London, has received critical acclaim, with Film Book praising its unique and fabulous storytelling. "Shapeless" was also selected for the prestigious Gotham Institute narrative lab in 2020, a recognition of its exceptional quality.
The film is based on Kelly's personal struggle with an eating disorder, set against the vibrant backdrop of New Orleans' music scene. Additionally, Kelly has authored the children's book "Zoo Krewe", beautifully illustrated by Samantha Aldana, who also directed "Shapeless".
As a musician, Kelly sings professionally with her partner, Will Dickerson, a talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is also a certified sound healer and breath-work facilitator, further expanding her creative horizons.
Born into a family of two brothers, Kelly is the middle sibling. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University in North Carolina, earning degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Business Administration.
