Biography

Keegan-Michael Key, a talented individual, was brought into this world in the city of Southfield, Michigan, and spent his formative years in the vibrant metropolis of Detroit. His early life was marked by a unique family dynamic, as he was adopted by a loving black father and a white mother, a union that would later shape his perspective on the world.

As he entered his teenage years, Key matriculated at Shrine Catholic High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he completed his secondary education in 1989. His academic pursuits did not come to an end there, as he went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience as a member of the esteemed fraternity Phi Kappa Theta.

In pursuit of his passion for the performing arts, Key subsequently earned a Master of Fine Arts in Theater at Pennsylvania State University, a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Through his education and early experiences, Key laid the groundwork for a successful career in the entertainment industry, one that would be marked by his versatility, creativity, and infectious energy.
