Kayla Stanton, a talented Australian actress, was born in 1988 in the vibrant city of Sydney, where she was raised by parents of English and Scottish descent. Her love affair with the theatre began at a tender age, as she was drawn to the magic of the stage. Her early foray into acting came when she played the captivating role of the Ringmaster in her primary school's circus production, impressing the audience of proud parents with her charisma and stage presence.
As she grew older, Kayla's passion for acting only intensified, and she went on to study both drama and classical singing throughout her high school years. Her academic pursuits culminated in a Bachelor of Communication with a sub-major in Performance from Western Sydney University in 2009. She then further honed her craft by completing the CORE program at the Actor's College of Theatre and Television in 2011.
Kayla's dedication to her craft was rewarded when she was accepted into the prestigious Screen Actor's Studio at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2013. However, it was her bold decision to relocate to Vancouver, Canada in 2016 that ultimately led to her breakthrough in the industry. The risk paid off, as she landed her first professional audition in the new city, securing a speaking role on the popular Netflix series Lucifer in 2017.
Kayla's subsequent roles on the CW TV series Supernatural, where she played the quirky and enigmatic Jessica the Reaper in 2017 and 2018, further cemented her status as a talented and versatile actress. Her impressive performance in the Canadian independent feature film Amber's Descent earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Genre Celebration Festival in 2020, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the industry.
