Kayhan Yıldızoğlu, a renowned Turkish film and television series actor, was born on May 28, 1933. His father, an agricultural engineer of Circassian descent, and his mother, a teacher from Crete, played a significant role in shaping his early life.
In 1955, Yıldızoğlu completed his military service as a reserve officer and later became a foreign exchange commissioner at the Istanbul exchange office. It was during this period that he received an invitation to an acting audition from Muhsin Ertuğrul, which marked the beginning of his illustrious acting career.
Under the guidance of Haldun Taner, Yıldızoğlu made his film debut in 1966 and went on to play a wide range of roles, including priest, doctor, commissioner, and supporting characters in Turkish cinema. He shared an apartment with fellow actor Şener Şen in Cihangir for three and a half years, during which time he honed his craft.
Throughout his illustrious career, Yıldızoğlu appeared in over 150 films and television series, including the popular Kanal D series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, where he played the role of Yüce Majeste. He was married to fellow actress Suna Yıldızoğlu, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love for the craft.
Kayhan Yıldızoğlu passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 90, in Istanbul, due to old age. His legacy will continue to be celebrated and cherished by fans of Turkish cinema and television.
