Katie Messina, a talented individual, began her journey in Toronto, where she pursued her passion for theatre by attending the esteemed Humber College Theatre Arts Program. Following her time in Toronto, she relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, a city that would serve as the backdrop for her early career milestones.
One of her earliest notable roles was in the film 'YOU KILL ME', where she had the privilege of sharing the screen with the renowned Sir Ben Kingsley. During her time on the west coast, Katie continued to hone her craft by training with the accomplished instructors Larry Moss and Gina Chiarelli. Her extensive experience in the industry also led to her involvement in notable projects such as THE L WORD and INTELLIGENCE.
After a stint on the west coast, Katie returned to her hometown of Toronto in 2010, where she has since maintained a steady presence in both film and television. Her recent and upcoming credits include the popular series MISTRESSES, MURDOCH MYSTERIES, THE STRAIN, and the critically acclaimed THE HANDMAID'S TALE, which earned an Emmy award.
In addition to her impressive on-camera work, Katie is also the founder of her own theatre company, Braveheart Productions, which has successfully produced several notable productions, including DOLORES, SAVAGE IN LIMBO, and FAT PIG.
