Biography

Kathryn Crosby, the stunning brunette, was born Kathryn Grant in 1933 in Houston, Texas. From a young age, she appeared on stage, eventually graduating from the University of Texas and even working as a student nurse. Her path to films began through the beauty pageant circuit, where she quickly rose through the ranks from unbilled parts to becoming a decorative love interest alongside top male stars.

She appeared in numerous films alongside notable actors, including Richard Kiley, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, James Stewart, and Victor Mature. Her most iconic role was as the princess-in-distress in the 1958 epic fantasy, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, which has since gained semi-cult status. Despite feeling unchallenged as an actress, she retired after marrying Bing Crosby in 1957 and devoting herself to family life.

Kathryn and Bing had three children, including actress Mary Crosby, who gained fame for her role in the TV series Dallas. The family frequently appeared together in Bing's popular Christmas specials, with Kathryn also hosting a couple of syndicated TV series. After Bing's passing in 1977, Kathryn gradually returned to acting, taking on stage roles in productions such as "Same Time, Next Year", "Charley's Aunt", and a Broadway revival of "State Fair" in 1996.

In addition to her acting endeavors, Kathryn has published two sets of memoirs, "Bing and Other Things" and "My Life with Bing", and annually hosts the Crosby Gold Tournament in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
